The main business of the Group today
is the mining, processing,
procurement and trading of coal.

Wesmine mines raw run of mine
at the Khanyisa Mine and Blesboklaagte plant
using open cast mining methods.

Latest - Wescoal is pleased to announce the granting, by the Department of Water Affairs (“DWA”) of a water use licence at Khanyisa Colliery

The beneficiation process entails
feeding of run of mine into a
dense medium washing plant
to separate the coal from impurities
such as stone, sulphur and shale.

Wescoal owns the Khanyisa Mine,
an open-cast mine situated near Kendal in Mphumalanga
with a remaining, estimated reserve
of 2.7 million tons.

Through Chandler, Wescoal provides
the logistical requirements for the sourcing,
distribution and delivery of coal products
to the general industry with emphasis
on road transportation.
